Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Synapsys Digital Ltd collects when you use synapsys.uk, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. It was last updated on 21 September 2026.

Who we are

Synapsys Digital Ltd is a UK technology consultancy, registered in England and Wales under company number 16646310. Our registered office is 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy by email at info@synapsys.uk or by phone on +44 (0)3330 120 007.

What we collect and why

When you contact us. If you email or phone us, we keep your name, contact details and the content of your message so that we can respond and, where relevant, discuss working together. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and, where a contract follows, performance of that contract.

When you browse the site. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, including your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running reliably, on the basis of our legitimate interests.

Analytics, only if you accept. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how visitors reach the site. It is switched off until you choose Accept analytics on the cookie banner. If you accept, Google Analytics sets the cookies listed below and processes your IP address (truncated by Google before storage) and device and browser information. Google may transfer this data outside the UK and EEA under its standard contractual clauses. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the link in the footer of every page; withdrawing consent stops further collection and removes the Google cookies from your browser. If you reject, or make no choice, the Google Analytics library is never loaded and no analytics data is collected.

Cookies

The site has no accounts, comments or logins, so it sets no cookies for those. The only cookies are the ones in the table below. The first records your cookie choice and is strictly necessary for that purpose, so it does not need consent. The Google Analytics cookies are optional and are only set if you accept them on the banner.

You can change your choice at any time with the link in the footer. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal we treat it as a rejection and do not show the banner. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies; doing so will not stop the site working.

Embedded content from other websites

Some pages embed content hosted elsewhere: a Google Maps map on the contact page and Cloudflare Stream video on some articles. When such content loads, the third party may collect data about you, set its own cookies and monitor your interaction with the embed as if you had visited its site directly. The map only loads when you choose to open it. Please refer to the privacy policies of Google and Cloudflare for details.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the service providers needed to run the site and our business, such as our hosting provider, email provider and Google Analytics, each acting under contract, or where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any resulting engagement, and then for up to six years to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Server logs are retained for a short rolling period by our hosting provider. Google Analytics data is retained for the period configured in our account, currently 14 months.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, and under the EU GDPR if you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability where applicable. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what was done before. To exercise any of these rights, email info@synapsys.uk. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or, if you are in the EEA, to your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if our practices change. The date at the top of the policy shows when it was last revised.
